Just Cause 2 is a sandbox style action video game currently under development by Swedish developer Avalanche Studios and

Eidos Interactive, published by Square Enix. It is currently set for a release on March, 23 2010. It is the sequel to the

2006 video game Just Cause.

Just Cause 2 employs a new version of the Avalanche Engine, Avalanche Engine 2.0; an updated version of the engine used in

Just Cause. The game will be set on the other side of the world, compared to Just Cause, on the fictional tropical island of

Panau in Southeast Asia. Rico Rodriguez will return as the protagonist, aiming to overthrow the evil dictator Pandak “Baby”

Panay and confront his former boss, Tom Sheldon.

Features:
Notable features of Just Cause 2 include the dual-grappling hook, which gives players the ability to tether objects to each

other. There are no limitations to what can be tethered, allowing tethering of enemies to vehicles. This feature can be

utilized in gameplay situations, such as high speed vehicle chases, wherein the player can use the dual-hook to attach a

pursuing vehicle to the ground, immediately forcing it to a stop and causing immense damage to the vehicle.

In addition, the player is given a ‘reloadable’ stunt parachute which is always ready to be deployed, even if it had been

deployed and discarded only moments before. This can be combined with the grappling hook and used for a fast method of

transport in a technique known as the “slingshot maneuver” which literally slingshots the player around the map.
